A Medical Radiology and Imaging Technologist (MRIT) is a healthcare professional who employs a range of different imaging techniques and sophisticated equipment to produce high quality images during any injury or disease. They take the images using range of techniques including: X-rays, Mammography, Fluoroscopy, CT (Computed Tomography), MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging), DEXA, Angiography, etc.
At Mariyam College, the B.Sc in Medical Radiology and Imaging Technology program spans 4 years and is taught through a blend of classroom and clinical education. In clinical rotations, the student experiences hands-on learning in each discipline of imaging and, under supervision, performs diagnostic testing in the department of Radio Diagnosis and Imaging. Students undergo rotatory training in various techniques of whole body X-rays including interventional procedures such as Barium studies, intravenous procedures, HSG, RGU and MCU etc., and also various scanning procedures of CT and MRI.
